These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Parallax ("the Service"), operated by Three Sons LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.
Parallax is a thinking workspace offering three primary modes of interaction:
Users may upload documents and files for AI analysis. Uploaded content is processed under the same Zero Data Retention policy as text queries.
Session limits, AI model access, and feature availability vary by subscription tier as described on the pricing page.
The Service depends on third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, and Mistral), third-party infrastructure services (Supabase, Stripe, E2B), and either our managed API access or user-provided API keys to function.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Parallax processes user queries through third-party AI model providers via Vercel's AI Gateway with Zero Data Retention enabled. Under this configuration, user inputs and AI outputs are not stored at rest by AI providers after the response is returned, except where required by law or to enforce usage policies.
Parallax stores conversation history, account information, and usage data on our servers to provide the service. Users may delete their conversation history at any time from their dashboard.
Parallax does not sell, share, or provide user data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or model training purposes.
Users are responsible for ensuring their use of the service complies with any industry-specific regulations that apply to them (such as HIPAA, SOX, GDPR, etc.). Parallax provides zero data retention as a technical measure on supported routes but does not guarantee compliance with any specific regulatory framework.
Parallax provides AI-generated responses for informational purposes. Outputs from the service, including but not limited to financial analysis, legal commentary, medical information, and business strategy, should not be treated as professional advice. Users should consult qualified professionals before making decisions based on AI-generated content.
Parallax is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of AI-generated responses. Multiple model perspectives may disagree, and the final output represents a synthesis of perspectives rather than a guarantee of correctness.
AI-generated code executed in the sandbox environment runs in an isolated container. However, we make no warranties about the security, correctness, or safety of generated code. You download and use generated files at your own risk.
For managed subscription tiers, AI API calls are routed through our provider accounts. You do not need to provide your own API keys. API access costs are included in your subscription fee. We reserve the right to modify which AI models are available on each tier, adjust session limits, and route requests through different model versions at our discretion. You acknowledge that AI responses may vary based on model availability and provider status.
AI model selection and routing: Parallax uses query routing to manage performance and platform capacity. Queries may be routed to equivalent models within the same provider family based on query complexity and your subscription tier. The specific model version used may differ from the model displayed in the interface. Higher-tier subscriptions may unlock access to premium model versions for more complex queries. Model availability, versions, and routing logic may change at any time without notice as providers update their offerings.
The BYOK tier requires you to provide your own third-party API keys (e.g., from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Mistral) to access AI functionality.
Key storage: Your API keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption and are transmitted exclusively over TLS. We never log, display, or use your API keys for any purpose other than executing requests on your behalf during active Parallax sessions.

Our liability limitations: WE DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY for charges incurred on your third-party accounts, service disruptions caused by invalid, expired, or rate-limited keys, actions taken by third-party AI providers regarding your data, and output generated by third-party AI models.
Regardless of your subscription tier, all AI-generated output is subject to the disclaimers in Section 5. We do not control the AI models, their outputs, or their data handling practices.
Parallax offers multiple subscription tiers billed monthly through Stripe. Current tiers and pricing are listed on the pricing page and may change with notice to subscribers.
Paid subscribers may cancel at any time. Access continues through the end of the current billing period.

We claim no intellectual property rights over the content you create using the Service.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PARALLAX OR THREE SONS LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (I) THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (II) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI-generated outputs will be accurate or reliable, that the Service will meet your specific requirements, or that defects will be corrected within any timeframe.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Three Sons LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee. Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us for at least 30 days.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days in advance via email and/or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service and cancel your account.
